Challenge

Advanced Sheet Metal Design Using NX Cad Challenge_6_Bracket

REPORT :

TITLE OF THE PROJECT :

The title of the project is NX_BRACKET_DILEEPKUMAR

INTRODUCTION:

Generally sheetmetal thickness range varies from 0.4mm to 6mm then it is called has sheetmetal,The sheet metal modellin is used for designing the models like the battery cases, casing for the radiators and also for creating the models that have rectangular or the square shape or the L brackets etc these kind of objects are more convinent for designing the objects.

If the thickness is less than 0.4mm then it is called has foil.

If the thickness is more tham 6mm then it is called has plate.

OBJECTIVE :

The main objective of this component is to design the bracket with the given dimensions and to give holes of M2 size on the respective positions and also provide the drawing sheet of the component.

DESIGN METHODOLOGY :

DESCRIPTION :

Tab : It creates the base feature by extruding the sketch by a thickness value along the given vector direction.

Flange : It is used to extend the corner of the component to a requried length at the given angle

Closed Corner : It is used to close the corner where the two adjacent flanges meet.

Hem : It folds the edge of the flange over on to itself for the purpose of the safe handling and to increse the stiffness at the edge.

Dimple : It is used to increase or decrease the surface height without changing the thickness of the surface basically embosses are created generally defined has the raised or the recessed part.

Bead : It lifts the material along the counter of the sketch that stimulates a stamping tool

First the tab is created with 100 * 200 mm dimension and later the is cut in the rectangular portion to obtain the shape of L bracket and then holes of 15 mm dia is cut on the cross section and later bead is developed on the bracket on the given dimensions finally the drafting sheet is developed.

CONCLUSION :

The given metal bracket design produced by considering the given guidelines from the above .
