ODD SHAPED ENCLOSURE USING NX CAD SHEET METAL APPLICATION
OBJECTIVE :
Create an odd shaped enclosure and flat pattern using NX CAD sheet metal application.
INTRODUCTION :
Create an enclosure by creating a solid model and wrapping the sheet metal over the solid body and add features like dimple bead after unbending . Lastly , create flat pattern to check manufacturing feasibility .
DESIGN METHODOLOGY:
DESCRIPTION:
- Sketch – It is a 2d figure created on a plane .
- Extrude – The sketch is extruded to create a 3d solid body.
- Sheet Metal from Solid – This feature is used to convert the above solid body into sheet metal.
- Flange – This is used to add flange at an angle to the planar face and a bend between the two.
- Jog – It lifts up the material with help of sketch and add a flange between the two .
Unbend – It is used to create further features like dimple and beads .
- Bead – It is used to lift the material with help of sketch and simulates a stamping tool .
- Simple Hole – Hole are made by help of this command .
- Rebend – It is used to rebend the faces back
- Flat Pattern – It is done to check the manufacturing feasibility .
