ODD SHAPED ENCLOSURE

Objective :

• Objective of this project is to create enclosures with odd shapes or angles.

Introduction :

A solid body encompasses the interior volume of the final enclosure shape. Using NX sheetmetal application wrap the solid body with sheet metal to create enclosures.

Design methodology :

Features used while designing :

1.Datum plan: Creats a Datum plane used to construct other features.

2.Sheet metal from solid : Builds a sheet metal model that takes its shape from a collection of planer faces.

3.Flange : Adds a flat flange at an angle to a planar face and adds a bend between the two.

4.Jog : Modifies the model by lifting material on one side of a sketch line adding a flange between the two sides.

5.Unbend : Flattens the bend and the material adjacent to the bend.

6.Bead : Lifts the material along the contour of a sketch that simulates a stamping tool and gives strength to the sheet metal body.

7.Rebend : Restores the unbend feature to its previous bend state along with any features added after the unbend feature.

8. Flat pattern: It is a flat representation of the formed sheetmetal part.
