Challenge

Advanced Sheet Metal Design Using NX Cad Challenge_2_Box Assembly

BOX ASSEMBLY

Objective :

  • To design "Sheetmetal Box Assembly" using NX Sheetmetal application.

Introduction :

  • Box is a closed type container. In this project we will design the Sheetmetal Box.

Design approch :

Features used while designing :

1.Sketch : Sketch is a basic of 3D model. It identifies geometric relationships based on surrounding geometry.Sketvh creation is done by using direct sketch tools.

2. Tab : It adds material to a planar face by extruding a sketch along a vector by a thickness value.

3.Flange : This feature adds a flat flange at an angle to a planar face and dds a bend between the two.

4.Break corner : It rounds or chamfers a sharp corner of a tab or flange.

5.Normal cutout : This feature cuts the material by projecting a sketch onto the model and then cutting perpendicular to the faces intersected by the projection.

6.Hem flange : This feature modifies the model by folding the edge of sheet metal flange over onto itself for the purpose of the safe handling and to increase edge stiffnes.

7.Unbend : To flattens a bend and the material adjacent to the bend.

8.Rebend : It restores an unbend feature to its previous bend state, along with any feature added after the unbend feature.

9.Mirror body : It copies a body and mirrorsn it across a plane.

10.Dimple : this feature lifts an area of the model inside a sketch that simulates a stamping tool.

Conclusion : According to the required dimensions design of Sheetmetal Box assembly model was completed in NX CAD sheetmetal application.
