Advanced Sheet Metal Design Using NX Cad Challenge_2_Box Assembly
Title: Garbage Box Assembly in Sheet Metal Design Using NX CAD
Objective: The objective of this project is to design a garbage box assembly using sheet metal and NX CAD, applying various sheet metal modeling tools.
Introduction: This project involves the design of a garbage box assembly using sheet metal. The design process utilizes NX CAD, a powerful computer-aided design software. The focus is on the application of various sheet metal modelling tools throughout the modeling process.
Design Methodology / Approach:
Base using TAB:
Start by creating the base of the garbage box using the TAB feature, which allows for the quick creation of the sheet metal base.
Sides using FLANGES:
Use FLANGES to add sides to the base, forming the main structure of the garbage box.
Corners are closed using CLOSED CORNER:
Apply CLOSED CORNER to close all corners, ensuring a solid and secure construction.
Created DIMPLES and BEADS:
Introduce DIMPLES and BEADS for additional structural integrity and visual appeal.
Closed all corners with closed HEM:
Utilize closed HEM to close all remaining corners, enhancing the overall strength of the sheet metal structure.
Traced the outline of the bin and created the top cover using TAB:
Use the TAB feature to trace the outline of the garbage bin and create the top cover for easy access.
Created hinges for cover by using TAB, FLANGES, OPEN LOOP HEM, UNDEND, NORMAL CUT, REBEND:
Implement a combination of features including TAB, FLANGES, OPEN LOOP HEM, UNDEND, NORMAL CUT, and REBEND to design hinges for the top cover. This ensures proper functionality and ease of use.
Mirrored everything required:
Mirror necessary components to achieve symmetry and optimize the design for manufacturing.

Description (Features Used in Modeling):
TAB Feature: Used for creating the base and top cover.
FLANGES: Applied for adding sides and other extended features.
CLOSED CORNER: Used to close all corners securely.
DIMPLES and BEADS: Introduced for additional strength and aesthetic details.
