Challenge

Advanced Sheet Metal Design Using NX Cad Challenge_2_Box Assembly

REPORT :

1.TITLE OF THE PROJECT ;

The title of the project is NX_BOXSMBLY_DILEEPKUMAR

2.OBJECTIVE :

The main objective of this project is to design the box assembly by taking two individual sheet metal files and assembling them in the assembly file

1.Lid

2.Container

INTRODUCTION :

Generally sheetmetal thickness range varies from 0.4mm to 6mm then it is called has sheetmetal,The sheet metal modellin is used for designing the models like the battery cases, casing for the radiators and also for creating the models that have rectangular or the square shape or the L brackets etc these kind of objects are more convinent for designing the objects.

If the thickness is less than 0.4mm then it is called has foil.

If the thickness is more tham 6mm then it is called has plate.

DESIGN METHODOLOGY :

DESCRIPTION :

For achieving the final desried design component the commands used are

1.Tab :It creates the base feature by extruding the sketch by a thickness value along the given vector direction.

2.Bead :It lifts the material along the counter of the sketch that stimulates a stamping tool

3.Dimple : It is used to increase or decrease the surface height without changing the thickness of the surface basically embosses are created generally defined has the raised or the recessed part.

4.Rebend : It restores the bends material

5.Unbend : Flattens the bend and the material adjacent to the bend

6.Hem :It folds the edge of the flange over on to itself for the purpose of the safe handling and to increse the stiffness at the edge.

7.Cut out :It is used to close the corner where the two adjacent flanges meet.

8.Flange : It is used to extend the corner of the component to a requried length at the given angle

CONCLUSION :

Therefore the given component is designed as per the given guidelines in the assembly file
