Objective

Creating the sheet metal box assembly design using Nx cad

Introduction

Sheet metal operations are done to create the components which are used in aircraft bodies, automobiles bodies, utensiles used for domestic purpose, Beverages can. In automobile industry sheet metal parts are mainly manufactured with aluminium or steel. For steel we use deep drawing method and for aluminium casting is used. Box Assembly desogn is created using sheet metal application with the help of given method.

Design Methodology and Description

Sketing - Basic rectangular sketch is created

Tab- Using this tab we gave thickness to geometry

Bending - Using the bend we bend the given sheets

Closed Corner - This command is used to close the corner by selecting the bends

Breaking corners - Using the break corners we round the sharp corners of the sheet

Unbend - Using this command we can unbend the bended sheet

Hole - Using this command we create the hole in the 4 corners

Dimple - Using this we add the dimple on the part.

Beads - This command is used to create bead on the surafce

Rebending - This is done to the component in the original design

Drafting - The new drawing sheet was created using the projects.
