Advanced Sheet Metal Design Using NX Cad Challenge_2_Box Assembly

BOX ASSEMBLY

Objective: The objective of the Project is to design a Box assembly using the NX CAD - Sheet metal features

Introduction : Box build assembly involves everything including design, production and construction.Box assembly design are used in mechanical, electronic and electro-mechanical applications.

Design methodology / approach :

The NX cad is used to design the Box assembly:

The sketch is designed and the tab and flange is used to create the sheet metal

Flange and Hem flange is used to join the two flanges in one side

Mirror body is used to mirror the entire body created with reference to a plane

Then the X design is drawn in the side of the box using the sketcher and the dimple is used to create a dimple from the sketch

The same dimple is Mirrored to the other side of the box too using the option Mirror feature

Finally a rectangular dimple is created at the bottom of the box too

All these rectangular dimples are provided with smooth edges using the option Break corners

The tab is used to create a lid for the box

Finally on one side , the hinge kind of mechanism is designed for the lid using the combination of Flange , Hem Flange , Normal cut out , Unbend and Re-Bend

Description
