CASING MODEL
Objective: To design the casing model using the NX CAD
Introduction: A casing is a substance or object that covers something and protects it.The casing is made using the sheet metal using a many Sheet metal features.
Design methodology / approach:
Description:
The tools used are
Datum CSYS
Sketch features: Sketch, Studio spline , Rectangle , Move curve ,
Sheet metal features: Tab, Flange, Hole, Mirror Feature, Dimple , Bead , Bend, Unbend, Rebend
Sketch is used to draw the images in 2d format.
The studio spline is used to create a smooth curve by connecting several poles
Move curve option can be use to transform the model and rotate
Tab is used to create a extrusion of the sketch which creates a sheet metal
Flanges , dimple , Bead , hole are several sheet metal features to design the model as per the requirements
