3D Creation of Celing, Roof, Architectural plan, Structural plan, Sectional view, Elevation view and Camera specific view for a house plan using REVIT
Aim: 3D Creation of Ceiling, Roof, Architectural plan, Structural plan, Section view, Elevation view and Camera specific view for a house plan using REVIT
Introduction: Revit is such a wonderful software. So we can create such 3D views of a building
- We can create Ceiling in 3D
- We can create a Roof in 3D
- We can create a Architectural plan, Structural plan
- We can create a section view
- We can specify the camera and we can create a different views of a building in REVIT software
Procedure:-
1. Based on the project saved from Week 3, proceed from the First Floor Level. Model a Ceiling from the architecture tab above the walls at the first-floor level
Ans.
- Open the REVIT software
- Open the challenge 3 project
- Then the select the First floor in the ceiling type in project browser

- In the architecture tab select the element ceiling

- We can select a different sizes of ceiling and we can customize the sizes also by using edit type
-

- After clicking on the ceiling option the modify tab will appear
- In modify tab we have both automatic ceiling and sketch ceiling
- Then select the sketch ceiling

- And choose a option called line the draw panel
- Now draw line over the edges of the builing for each room

- After drawing the line over the edges of the rooms click on the finish mark in the mode panel to save the ceiling
- After clicking the finish tick mark we can see that ceiling is created in the project
-

Result:
Here is the result after creating the ceiling by using REVIT

2. Model a roof above the ceiling by selecting the footprints of the ceiling. Using the adjustment toolbars appearing on-screen adjust the roof slope to 10 degrees
Ans.
- Open the REVIT software
- Select the option called Roof
- Select Roof by Footpath in the roof option
-

- After selecting the roof by footprint the modify tab will open
- Then select the pick line in the draw panel

- Now select the edge lines of the drawing

- After selecting the all edges of the building click on the finish tick mark
- Now the roof is ready

- Now select the roof
- After selecting the roof their is a option called slope
- Select the slope as 10 degrees

- If the slope unit is in feet change it into degree by typing UN. The dialog box is opened set the slope units into degrees

- After setting the slope as 10 degrees press apply
- Now the floor is created with a 10 degree
Result:-
Here is the result of creating 3D roof
3. Using the file saved from weeks 2 to 4, create plan views for ground floor level and first-floor level including all the walls, floors, and components. Separate them to
architecture and structural plans
a. Architecture plan must have walls, floors, and all the components placed within the building
b. Structure plan must have details of only walls, floors, and columns
Ans.
- Open the REVIT software
- Go to view tab and select the option called Floor plan
- In the Floor plan select the Architecture plan

- Now the dialog box will opened
- Select the floor to view the architecture plan of the drawing

- Now the Architectural is viewed

- Same again go to Floor plam option select now structural plan
- Then the dialog box will apears in the drawing select the floor

- Now the structural plan is viewed

Q4. Using annotate toolbar add dimensions to all the walls and floors with reference to the longitudinal and transverse grids created in the project file
a. The architecture plan dimensions include details on where the components are placed within the buildings with relation to grids. Overall dimensions are sufficient for architecture plans
b. The Structure plan dimensions must include details on the position of all the walls and interior walls with reference to grids. Locate all the framing components of the building with reference to a fixed point using Structural plans
Ans.
- First go to annotate tab

- Then select the Aligned or Linear option in the annotate tab

- After selecting the alined option in the annotate tab select the corners of the rooms
- And specify the dimensions
- And specify the corners of the building
- Specify the externel dimensions and internal dimensions
- Internal dimensions are also specified

- And dimensions are also specified in the sturctural plan

5. Create a sheet template from the view tab and adjust the parameters on the sheet to add appropriate views
Ans.
- Open REVIT software
- Go to manage tab and select the option called project information and fill the information of the project and click ok

- When we create a new sheet the project information will appears on the sheet
- There is a option called sheet in the view tab

- Click on the sheet option
- Then one dialog box will open
- In that dialog box select the sheet size

- If the sheets are not available just click on the load option
- Then again one dialog box opened and select the US and go to titleblocks folder
- There some sheet sizes are available just select the one type of sheet

- After selecting the sheet click on the open option
- Then sheet is opened
- Drag the views of the building from the project browser
- And set then int sheet with a appropriate scale
- The information that we saved in the project scale will appears on the sheet

6. Using the elevation tab create the elevation views, looking at your building from East, North, South, and West
Ans.
- Open the revit software
- We can see that there are two browsers 1. Property browser, 2. Project browser
- So in the project browser we see that their is a option called elevation
- In the elevation tab we can see that their are 4 types of elevtion EAST,WEST,SOUTH and NORTH

- Just double click on the EAST
- Then immediatly we see that the elevtion view of east side of the building will appears]

- Then double click on the north then north elevtaion view of the building will appears

- Then double click on the south then south elevtaion view of the building will appears

- Then double click on the west then west elevtaion view of the building will appears

7. Produce section cut through each room either cutting across longitudinally or in a transverse direction
Ans.
- After opening the REVIT
- Select the view tab
- In the view tab their is a option called section click on the option

- Draw the section line to each room of the builing to view thr section of all rooms

- While we creating a sections we can see that the sections are shown in the project browser under section tabs
- Name sections with approprieate names

- Then all sections of the rooms are created
- Bath room and Store room section view

- Bed room section view

- Bed room 2 section view

- Kitchen room sectin view

- Living room section view

- Section1

- Section 2

- The section view of all the rooms are shown above
8. Classify the views, Plan Views, Section Views, and Elevation views to either Design or Documentation category using Properties browser
Ans.
- After opening the REVIT software
- We can see the two types of browser
- Property browser and project browser
- In the project browser we see the different types of plans and views

- Structural plan views

- Floor plans views

- Ceiling plans views

- Elevation view

- 3D viewws

- Section views

- Type of sheets created

9. Using the sheet template produced create multiple sheets as follows
a. A 101- Ground Floor Architecture Plan
b. A 102- First Floor Architecture Plan
c. A 103- Roof Plan
d. S 101- Ground Floor Structural Plan
e. S 102- First Floor Structural Plan
f. S 103- Roof Framing Plan
g. A-201- North-South Elevations
h. A-202- East-West Elevations
Add additional sheets based on the sections created in your Revit file
Ans.
- After opening the revit
- Go to view tab
- Create a new sheets witha naming
- A 101- Ground Floor Architecture Plan
A 102- First Floor Architecture Plan
A 103- Roof Plan
S 101- Ground Floor Structural Plan
S 102- First Floor Structural Plan
S 103- Roof Framing Plan
A-201- North-South Elevations
A-202- East-West Elevations
- Sheet A 101- Ground Floor Architecture Plan

- Sheet A 102- First Floor Architecture Plan

- Sheet A 103- Roof Plan

- Sheet S 101- Ground Floor Structural Plan

- Sheet S 102- First Floor Structural Plan

- Sheet S 103- Roof Framing Plan

- Sheet A-201- North-South Elevations

- Sheet A-202- East-West Elevations

10. Create a camera-specific view or a 3D view in each room ( living, dining, bedroom). Based on the views create a new set of sheets starting A-501 (you can add as many sheets after, 502, 503.. n)to place the 3D view images. Produce the sheets as a part of project drafting.
Ans.
- After opening the REVIT software
- Go to view tab

- Select the option called camera

- Create the sheets with A501

- After creating the sheets drag the views in the sheets
