Challenge

3D Creation of Celing, Roof, Architectural plan, Structural plan, Sectional view, Elevation view and Camera specific view for a house plan using REVIT

1) Based on the project saved from Week 3, proceed from the First Floor Level. Model a Ceiling from the architecture tab above the walls at the first-floor level

AIM:

Model a ceiling from the architecture tab above the walls at the first -floor level

INTRODUCTION:

Ceilings help create enclosure of and separation between spaces, they help to control the diffusion of light and sound around a room, and help prevent the passage of sound between rooms

PROCEDURE:

Go to first floor view

Go to Architectural tab>ceiling>sketch ceiling>pick lines

Select the tick mark

Now to 3D view ,the ceiling has been created

RESULT:

Now ceiling has been modelled successfully

2) Model a roof above the ceiling by selecting the footprints of the ceiling. Using the adjustment toolbars appearing on-screen adjust the roof slope to 10 degrees

AIM:

Create a roof & change the roof slope to 10 deg

PROCEDURE:

To create roof go to Architectural tab>roof>pick lines>tick option

Now the roof has been created

Select the created roof ,Go to properties change the slope to 10 deg & give apply

RESULT:

Roof has been successfully created

3) Using the file saved from weeks 2 to 4, create plan views for ground floor level and first-floor level including all the walls, floors, and components. Separate them to
architecture and structural plans

a. Architecture plan must have walls, floors, and all the components placed within the building
b. Structure plan must have details of only walls, floors, and columns

AIM:

Create plan views for ground floor level and first-floor level including all the walls, floors, and components. Separate them to architecture and structural plans

INTRODUCTION:

Structural plan contains only structural componnets like beams & columns

Architectural plan contains entire components include furnitures

PROCEDURE:

Select Ground floor plan

Go to view tab>Floor plan>Edit type>Ok

To create Architectural plan go to view tab>Structural plan>Edit type>Select floor>Ok

RESULT:

Architectural plan & structural plan for first floor & ground floor has been successfully created

4) Using annotate toolbar add dimensions to all the walls and floors with reference to the longitudinal and transverse grids created in the project file

a. The architecture plan dimensions include details on where the components are placed within the buildings with relation to grids. Overall dimensions are sufficient for architecture plans

b. The Structure plan dimensions must include details on the position of all the walls and interior walls with reference to grids. Locate all the framing components of the building with reference to a fixed point using Structural plans

AIM:

Using annotate toolbar add dimensions to all the walls and floors with reference to the longitudinal and transverse grids created in the project file

PROCEDURE:

Go to Architectural plan created mention the dimension using Annotate tab>Linear>Aligned

Longitudnal & transverse grids are created using Modify >Grid >Pick lines

Go to structural plan created mention the dimension using Annotate tab>Linear>Aligned

Longitudnal & transverse grids are created using Modify >Grid >Pick lines

RESULT:

Dimensions are mentioned

Longitudnal & Transverse grids created successfully

5) Create a sheet template from the view tab and adjust the parameters on the sheet to add appropriate views

AIM:

Create a sheet template from the view tab and adjust the parameters on the sheet to add appropriate views

INTRODUCTION:

Template files provide a reliable way to begin each new project file and ensure that it starts with the right collection of settings, features, and office standards

PROCEDURE:

To create a sheet template go to view tab>Sheet>Ok

RESULT:

Sheet Template has been successfully created

6) Using the elevation tab create the elevation views, looking at your building from East, North, South, and West

AIM:

create the elevation views, looking at your building from East, North, South, and West

INTRODUCTION:

Elevation views are part of the default template in Revit. When you create a project with the default template, 4 elevation views are included: north, south, east, and west. It is in elevation views where you sketch level lines. For each level line that you sketch, a corresponding plan view is created.

PROCEDURE:

Go to Elevation in project browser (or) view tab>Elevation & take a look of the building from East,North,South & West

Elevation from east direction

Elevation from north direction

Elevation from south direction

Elevation from west direction

RESULT:

Elevations of four directions are created successfully

7) Produce section cut through each room either cutting across longitudinally or in a transverse direction

AIM:

To Produce section cut through each room either cutting across longitudinally or in a transverse direction

INTRODUCTION:

Section views display as section representations in intersecting views. Provide views of specific parts of your model. The crop region and view range must intersect for a section tag to be visible.

PROCEDURE:

Go to view tab & select section view tool & create the sectional view of various rooms

Bed room sectional view

Dinning hall sectional view

Living room sectional view

Toilet sectional view

RESULT:

Created the sectional view od model in revit

8) Classify the views, Plan Views, Section Views, and Elevation views to either Design or Documentation category using Properties browser

AIM:

To classify the views, Plan Views, Section Views, and Elevation views to either Design or Documentation category using Properties browser

INTRODUCTION:

Revit provides standard view types for 2D views and 3D views, such as floor plans, elevations, and sections. If desired, you can duplicate a view type and customize it to use certain settings or a particular view template. Custom view types allow you to apply consistent settings to new views quickly and easily.

PROCEDURE:

Go to view tab ,select sheet icon ,select the sheet size & give ok

Sheet template of Ground floor has been created

Sheet template of first floor

Sheet template of east elevation

Sheet template of north elevation

Sheet template of south elevation

Sheet template of west elevation

Sheet template of bed room sectional view

Sheet template of dining hall sectional view

Sheet template of living room sectional view

Sheet template of toilet sectional view

RESULT:

Created sheet templates from view tab & adjusted parameters successfully

9) Using the sheet template produced create multiple sheets as follows
a. A101- Ground Floor Architecture Plan
b. A 102- First Floor Architecture Plan
c. A 103- Roof Plan
d. S 101- Ground Floor Structural Plan
e. S 102- First Floor Structural Plan
f. S 103- Roof Framing Plan
g. A-201- North-South Elevations
h. A-202- East-West Elevations

AIM:

To create multi sheet template & rename it

PROCEDURE:

Go to view tab & create a sheet ,rename it as per given in question

A101- Ground Floor Architecture Plan

A 102- First Floor Architecture Plan

A 103- Roof Plan

S 101- Ground Floor Structural Plan

S 102- First Floor Structural Plan

A-201- North-South Elevations

A-202- East-West Elevations

RESULT:

Created the multi sheets & produced the drawings successfully

10) Create a camera-specific view or a 3D view in each room ( living, dining, bedroom). Based on the views create a new set of sheets starting A-501 (you can add as many sheets after, 502, 503.. n)to place the 3D view images. Produce the sheets as a part of project drafting.

AIM:

Create a camera specific view for living ,dining & bedroom
