1) Based on the project saved from Week 3, proceed from the First Floor Level. Model a Ceiling from the architecture tab above the walls at the first-floor level

AIM:

To create the ceiling from the architecture tab above the walls at the first level.

INTRODUCTION:

  • The creation of ceiling within the revit is a very similar process to that of floors & roofs -level you can let Revit do most of the work & "grass" where you want the boundaries to be or you can enter sketch mode & literally sketch out the boundary of the ceiling yourself.
  • The main thing to remember is to be in the connect ceiling plan view before you start. Revit will let you place ceilings in floor plan.
  • Views, but would not advise this as you cannot readily see what you have created.

PROCEDURE:

  • First we open the revit software of the week 3 project file & selec the ceiling option from the architecture tab.

  • Click on the sketch ceiling.

  • Click on the boundary by pick planes as shown below.
  • The ceiling is created of the residential building

Result:

The ceiling has been modeled successfully from the architecture above the wall at the first floor level.

2) Model a roof above the ceiling by selecting the footprints of the ceiling. Using the adjustment toolbars appearing on-screen adjust the roof slope to 10 degrees

AIM:

To create a roof above the ceiling by selecting the footpints of the ceiling.

INTRODUCTION:

  • Roof covering of the top of a building serving to protect against rain snow, sunlight wind, & extremes of temperature.
  • Roofs have been constructed in a wide variety of forms flat, pitched, vaulted. Domed, or in combinations as directed by technical economic, or aesthetic considerations.
  • The earliest roofs constructed by man were usually set at a slope, or pitch ,so that rainfall could drain off them.

PROCEDURE:

  • Open the architecture toolbar, & select the roof by footprint option as shown in the below figure.

  • select the rectangle & give the offset as 2' & select the boundary ok.

  • Also give the roof thickness as 8".
  • Now select the roof & give the slope as 10 degree.

Result:

The roof has been created & the slope is adjusted to 10 degrees.

3) Using the file saved from weeks 2 to 4, create plan views for ground floor level and first-floor level including all the walls, floors, and components. Separate them to
architecture and structural plans

a. Architecture plan must have walls, floors, and all the components placed within the building
b. Structure plan must have details of only walls, floors, and columns

AIM:

To create the plan view for ground floor level & first-floor level incliding all the walls, floors,& components & to separate them to architecure & structural plans.

INTRODUCTION:

  • The structural plan view is the default view when you start a new project using a structural template.
  • Most projects include at least one structural plan. new structural plan views are created automatically as you add new levels to your project.
  • You can create multiple structural plan view types the floor plan view default view in a new architecural project- Most project include at least one floor plan.
  • FLoor plan views are created automatically as you add new levels to your project.

PROCEDURE:

a. Architecture plan must have walls, floors, and all the components placed within the building

  • First we draw the architectural plans of Ground floot & First floor as shwon below.

b. Structure plan must have details of only walls, floors, and columns

  • Next we draw the structural plans of the ground floor & first floor as shown in below.
  • click the view tool bar.
  • select the plan views & click the structural paln.

  • slelect the ground floor & press ok.

  • Then hide the category.
  • Again select the first floor also.

Result:

The plan views for ground floor & first floor has been created, both the architectural & structural view is created.

4) Using annotate toolbar add dimensions to all the walls and floors with reference to the longitudinal and transverse grids created in the project file

a. The architecture plan dimensions include details on where the components are placed within the buildings with relation to grids. Overall dimensions are sufficient for architecture plans

b. The Structure plan dimensions must include details on the position of all the walls and interior walls with reference to grids. Locate all the framing components of the building with reference to a fixed point using Structural plans

AIM:

To add dimension to all the walls & floors with reference to the longitudinal & transverse grides created in the project file.

INTRODUCTION:

  • The structural plan view is the default view when you start a new project using a structural template.
  • Most project include at least one structural plan. New structural plan views are created automatically as you add new levels to your project.
  • You can create include at least one floor plan.

PROCEDURE:

a. The architecture plan dimensions include details on where the components are placed within the buildings with relation to grids. Overall dimensions are sufficient for architecture plans

  • Here we drawn the longitdinal & transverse gride to the architectural floor plans as shown below.
  • Add the dimension using Annotate tool bar & select aligned dimension.

b. The Structure plan dimensions must include details on the position of all the walls and interior walls with reference to grids. Locate all the framing components of the building with reference to a fixed point using Structural plans

  • In structural plan draw the grids & mark the dimensions it for both the levels.

Result:

The dimension are added to both the architectural & structural plans.

5) Create a sheet template from the view tab and adjust the parameters on the sheet to add appropriate views

AIM:

To create a sheet template from the view tab & adjust the parameters on the sheet to add appropriate views.

INTRODUCTION:

  • Create views on a project template before you start building the model to streamline the project documentation process.
  • When creating a project template, you can inclde sheets in the template start with a blank project file & create the standard views & levels that each project should include levels the view empty but assign standerd name to them.
  • To create a standard set of construction documents, create sheets using the desired title blocks.
  • Add views to the sheets, using the desired viewport templates & view title type.
  • Then save the empty project as a project template.

PROCEDURE:

  • First we click the view tab & select the sheet option .

  • After clicking the sheet. The new tab will be visible on the screen in the tab we select the imperial sheet ,then the sheet template will be displayed.

  • Click the load option & select the new sheet.

  • Open the sheet & edit it on the project information toolbar.

  • In the sheet templet we insert the ground floor & first floor plan.

Result:

The sheet template is created from the view tab & adjusted the parameters on the sheet for adding appropriate views.

6) Using the elevation tab create the elevation views, looking at your building from East, North, South, and West

AIM:

To create the elevation views, looking at the building from East,North,South,& the West using the elevation tab.

INTRODUCTION:

  • An elevation is a view of a building seen from one side, a deflat reprasentation of one view.
  • This is the most common view used to describe the external appearence of a building.
  • East elevation is lablled in relation to the compass direction it faces. Looking toward the north you would be seeing the southern elevation of the building.

PROCEDURE:

  • Open the view tab & click the elevation tool bar.

  • next we place it all the four direction.
  • The default elevation is alredy created.

  • The elevation of of east is visible as shown below.

  • The elevation of of north is visible as shown below.

  • The elevation of of south is visible as shown below.

  • The elevation of of west is visible as shown below.

Result:

All the elevation views from each direction shown.

7) Produce section cut through each room either cutting across longitudinally or in a transverse direction

AIM:

To produce section cut though each room either cutting across longitudinally or in transverse direction.

INTRODUCTION:

  • Sectional views reveal hidden details in a mechanical drawing.
  • These viewas assume that a cutting plane has removed portions of the object reprasented by the drawing, displaying the appropriate section of the interior.
  • Sectional views are used in engineering & architectural drawings.
  • They helps civil engineers, architects,& airplane designers communicate their ideasto their prees.

PROCEDURE:

  • First we click on the section option from the view toolbar,as shown below.

  • Next we provide the section where ever required.

  • The section is provided bed room & master bed room.

  • The section of living room is created as shown below.

  • The section of study room as shown below.

  • The section of Kitchen as shown below.

  • The section of toilet as shown below.

Result:

All the section views of each room is created.

8) Classify the views, Plan Views, Section Views, and Elevation views to either Design or Documentation category using Properties browser

AIM:

To classify the views, plan views, section views & elevation views to either Design or Documentation category using properties browser.

INTRODUCTION:

  • The structural plan view is the default view when you start a new project using a structural template.
  • Most projects include at least one structural plan. new structural plan view are created automatically as you add new levels to your project.
  • You can create multiple structutal plan view types.
  • The floor plan view is the default view in a architectural project. most projects include at least one floor plan.
  • Floor plan views are created automatically as you add new level to your project. Sectional views reveal hidden details in a mechanical drawing.
