Syllabus

This course is full of best-in-class content by leading faculty and industry experts in the form of videos and projects

Course Overview

  • The tall building design is a specialized field within Structural Engineering that involves the understanding of various loads and effects that the building will be subjected to and the methods to resist the same.
  • This course explains the complexities involved in the design of tall buildings, the various loads, such as gravity, wind, seismic, thermal, etc., acting on the tall buildings and the different techniques used to mitigate the same.
  • The course explains the design process as per American Standards, which is an international code and is used extensively in various countries.
  • The course also gives a brief introduction to the software - ETABS and SAFE and how they help in the design of tall building structures.
