Top Universities in the US for Robotics

logo

Skill-Lync

I discussed the different fields in Robotics, in this post let's look into the best universities that provide quality Robotics specialisation.

The way I have gone about shortlisting these universities are,

  1. Looked into the research areas of Professors who have done significant progress in their respective fields of Robotics.
  2. Looked into Robotics competitions conducted by NASA and shortlisted the finalists in the last 5 years.

As I always say, it is not the university or the department that matters the most, what matters is the Professor under whom you are going to work. I strongly believe your advisor has a great influence on what your future is going to be, thus this approach.

I have picked the best universities for each subfield, take a look at it.

The first one is swarm robotics – (No particular order of superiority followed)

1. MIT – Massachusetts Institute of Technology – Prof. Daniela Rus

2. Stanford University – Prof. Mac Schwager

3. University of Pennsylvania – Prof. Vijay Kumar

4. University of Colorado – Boulder – Prof. Nikolaus Correll

5. Harvard University – Prof. Radhika Nagpal

6. Northwestern University – Prof. Mike Rubinstein

7. Arizona State University – Prof. Spring Berman

8. Texas A&M – Prof. Dylan Shell

Top 7 Space Robotics Universities: This list is based upon the performance of teams in NASA’s NASCAL Competitions

  1. MIT – Massachusetts Institute of Technology
  2. University of Pennsylvania
  3. University of Maryland – College park
  4. Georgia Institute of Technology
  5. University of Colorado – Boulder
  6. University of Southern California
  7. Drexel University
