Welcome back to the AutoCAD Essentials for Civil Engineers series! After covering the basics of polylines, let’s dive deeper into advanced options that make this tool indispensable for civil engineering projects.
Exploring Polyline Options
1. Arcs in Polylines
Tip: Combine arcs and lines within the same polyline for complex geometries like curved site plans or circular pipe routes.
2. Width and Half-Width
The width option lets you create polylines with varying thicknesses.
Example: Creating an arrow
Continue drawing, and you’ll notice the tapering effect, ideal for flow directions in site plans.
3. Length Option
Define segments with precise lengths relative to the previous segment.
Example: Draw a segment of 3 units from the current endpoint.
