Advanced Grip and Match Properties in AutoCAD

• Example: A wall with a hidden line type and blue color can be matched to another line with continuous type and red color.

Editing Polylines with Grips 

Polylines, like rectangles and polygons, are versatile elements in AutoCAD. Grip editing offers several options: 

1. Adding Vertex: 

• Select the polyline grip, right-click, and choose “Add Vertex.” 
• Specify the new vertex location to refine the geometry. 

2. Removing Vertex: Use the “Remove Vertex” option to simplify shapes by deleting unnecessary points. 

3. Example: Adding vertices to a hexagon allows you to transform it into a custom polygon for specific design needs. 

Converting to Arc 

Grips also enable conversion of polyline segments to arcs: 

• Select a midpoint grip, right-click, and choose “Convert to Arc.” 
• Adjust the arc’s curvature to fit your design requirements.

Quick Selection and Properties Panel 

The properties panel in AutoCAD is a robust tool for modifying object attributes: 

• Quick Selection: Filter objects by type, color, or layer for efficient editing. 
• Properties Matching: Standardize drawing elements by matching line types, colors, and layers across multiple objects.
