Wiring harness routing & packaging Rules Week 3 Challenge

1.CLAMPS:

Clamps are the holding and fixing devices.

They can can be defined as a support to the wiring harness.

2.BACKSHELLS AND CONNECTORS AND ASSEMBLY:

Backshells and connectors are having one entry point and outlet point

These are the 2 mating points.planes or surfaces

In back shells we have stright, L shape etc types of backshells are available

In connectors we can define based on the no of teriminals 2,4,8 etc

Procedure:

At first we have to choosen the what parts to connect fot that we have search for different web pages for downloding of the

parts manually.

Download the parts in the igs or step format fies.

Choose any part do the necessary modifications with respect to the geometry and create the points, planes and axis system for mating of the parts and for the orientation.

Once we have completed the geometric part then save the fies.

Now move the part to the mechanical workbench to electrical workbench.

Here we are going to give the electrical properties to the mechanical parts.

We have to define the connectors as connectors, mouting parts as mounting parts , clips as clips etc..

While defining the parts we have give the no of terminals it have and othre things all should be defined. so, that while converting the mechanical parts to electrical parts it will have electrical properties likes no of terminals etc..

After defining the each part individually assemble them at one place with help of the electrical assembly design workbench. here we can define each and every conection of each mating part and constrain accordingly.

3.COT_TUBES:

These are the protective devices or parts like tapes

Which are maily manufacturing with the PVC, cotton cloth, beading etc

we can directly select the cot tubes from the catlog

These cot can't get as standard parts we should design according to the requirement and the bend redius should always 1 or 1.5 times greater then the original diameter.
