Wiring harness design in CATIA V5 - 3D modeling Week 7 Challenge
AIM-
to create flattened wire harness and 2-D drawing from the flattened harness.
PROCEDURE-
- create flattened wire harness bundle in wire harness flattening workbench.
- adjust the flattening according to be viewed using corresponding tools in wire harness flattening workbench.
- create drawing of the flattening wire harness using drawing workbench.
THEORY-
we have already created wire harness in the week 4 challenge.with that wire harness we have to create harness flattening and 2D drawing.check the bundle continuity and bundle warning which was not done before.
the above image shows that the bundles are full connected and there is no bundle warning.
before bringing wire harness file into harness flattening workbench;we have to give flattenign parameters in the harness flattening workbench.then bring the wire harness into the harness flattening workbench using extract tool.after bringing the wire harness;convert the wire harness into straight lines in one plane.we have a option to choose on which plane the flattening should be made.we can choose flat surface or face of the connectors for that.we can change the arrangement of harness with help of tools like rotation,roll,scale etc.
one more thing to make sure that the wire harness file and flattening file should be saved in same location.
after all the changes bring the flattening into the drawing workbench.we can give black and white colours for the drawing or can use colours of the harness as like your wish.we can also show the bundle drawing as one line or two line according to our wish.

RESULT-
the harness flattenig for the week 4 challenge is done and 2D drawing for the harness flattening is also done.
