Wiring harness design in CATIA V5 - 3D modeling Week 5 & 6 Challenge
Aim
Route the following harness layout in Electrical workbench. Make assumption for harness bundle diameters. Use the connectors provided. After completion of routing,
- Check the bundle Continuity.
- Add annotation to all connectors. Check for the bundle warning.
- Generate CAT.part of harness assembly and convert is in. igs format.

Procedure
Step 1: Define the Mechanical Connectors Electrically.
- Creation of connector connection point and Connector Connection Axis
- Make a midpoint on the contact face for wire bundle insertion.
- Create an axis system referencing the newly generated point and specifying the axis direction.
- The Y-Axis should be oriented towards the connector's front face.
- The X-Axis should be oriented towards the clip's locking mechanism.
- The Z-axis should be pointing across the connector from left to right.
- Creation of Bundle Connection Point.
- Define the part as a connector
- Define connector connection point.
- Define Bundle connection point.

Step 2: Creation of Multi-Branching.
Open a “Product” in Electrical Harness assembly Workbench and define the Product as “Geometrical Bundle”. Locate all the electrically defined Connector at the desired position and Create the Multi-Branching between the connectors.

The Bundle diameter is assumed to be 15mm, 10mm and 5mm.

Step 4: Creation of annotation to all connectors.

Step 5: Generation of CAT.part of harness assembly.

Conclusion
Thus, the Wiring Harness Layout has been routed with the given inputs. The Bundle Continuity and Bundle Warning are checked and Annotations are created to all the connectors using Catia V5 Software.
