Wiring harness design in CATIA V5 - 3D modeling Week 5 & 6 Challenge

Here we need to route the Harness A and Harness B.

To begin with I have downloaded the cad files,in that I notice that there are different types of connectors.

I have defined the axis point and later bundle connection for all the connectors.

Harness B connectors are named as 1 2 3 4 5.

Harness A connectors are named as 6 7 8 9 10.

I have defined electrically and later I have created the catalogue family called connectors and I stored the connectors in the catalogue.

I used Electrical Harness Assembly workbench for routing.

I created multiple product files to open differnt connectors and later I assembled all the connectors at one place and I defined geometrically.

With use of multibranch I routed the connectors.

In branch definition we can see the command called route definitin it is main part of the routing.

Add branch point command used to connect the routing between bundles.

I set the bundle diameter of 10mm and bend radius of 15mm.

At last with the help of protective covering command insulation tubes are covered by corrugated tubes with the dia of 15mm.

Harness A:

Harness B :

• Add annotation to all connectors. Make an assumptions for annotations like connect 1 , 2 etc.

Later I have joined harness A and harness B with connect eletrical point command.
