Wiring harness design in CATIA V5 - 3D modeling Week 4 Challenge

Let's route the following electrical harness layout step by step for that we have to use connectors shown in following layout-

Step 1: 

• We have to give geometrical properties to all connectors and define them electrically in electrical part design workbench in CATIA V5.

• We have designed all the connectors geometrically and electrically as shown in above images.

Step 2:

• Now, we have to add all the components/connectors in 'Geometrical bundle assembly' in mechanical assembly design workbench.
• Before that, we have to create 'Context assembly' as main product file and after that create two sub product files named as 'Geometrical bundle assembly' and 'Electrical bundle circuit'.

• We have created 'Geometrical bundle assembly' and added all the connectors in it as shown in above image.

Step 3:

• As shown in above image, we have to locate all the connectors according to the given harness layout in assembly design workbench.
• So for easy and proper placing of the connectors, we can add metal plate at background and hide it later. 

Step 4:

• Let, convert mechanical assembly to electrical assembly by selecting 'Geometrical bundle' command in electrical harness assembly workbench.
• Now, we have to create bundle segment(where assumed diameter is 12mm) between the connectors DT06-08SA and DT06-6S as shown in above image.

Step 5:

• We have to create branch point and add another bundle segment(assumed diameter is 8mm) to join two connectors DT06-4S

Step 6: 

• Similarly, add next branch point and create another bundle segment(assumed diameter is 8mm) to join two connectors DT06-2S.

Step 7: 

• Now, we have to add protective covering on branch connected to DT06-4S connector, as shown in above image.
• Here, diameter of corrogated tube kept 11mm as harness bundle segment diameter is 8mm.
• As given, end extremity kept at 30mm from connector end.

 Step 8:

• Then, we have to add protective covering on branch connected to DT06-2S connector as shown in above image.
• Here also, diameter of corrogated tube kept 11mm as harness bundle segment diameter is 8mm.
• As given, end extremity kept at 30mm from connector end.
