Wiring harness design in CATIA V5 - 3D modeling Week 4 Challenge

Aim: To electrically define the components used in routing the harness according to the given diagram. Adding protective covering to the same with 30mm extremity from connectors.

Step 1:

Defining the connectors as electrical components. Define the bundle entry point and connector connection point of the components.

Given connectors: DT06-4S, DT06-6S, DT06-2S, DT06-08SA

Step 2:

Drawing a reference sketch for positioning of the connectors according to the given dimensions.

Step 3:

Creating a Geometrical bundle having all the necassary connectors under it. Positioning the connectors at their right positions for harnessing.

Step 4:

Routing the harness and adding branch points wherever necessary. With diameter of main branch 15mm and secondary branch 10mm and tertiary 5mm.

Step 5:

Adding protective covering to all the branches except main branch using the corrugated tube catalogue.

Conclusion:

Thus, routing of the harness layout is done according to the given parameters using CATIA software using Electrical Harness Workbench.
