Wiring harness design in CATIA V5 - 3D modeling Week 2 Challlenge

1.Deutsch DT06 – 08SA

• The Connector is first uploaded in the part design workbench
• We define the points for connector connection & bundle connection
• The axis systems are placed on the connector connection points

• The orientation of the axis system is not specific we just need to follow a similar orientation for all the parts.
• Here the y axis is in the direction of the connection z axis along with the clip mounting & x axis along bottom to top

     

2. Tyco 174357-2

• The same process was followed for the Tyco 174357-2 connector.
•  Added the connector- cavity connection point.
• This is done to fix the clip on the connector.

   

    

3.Tyco 85229-1 

• The Connector is first uploaded in the part design workbench
• The clip has to be defined as a cavity in the electrical part design workbench.   

   

Connector & Connector Clip Electrical Assembly 

• Connector & connector clip uploaded in the assembly design workbench.
• After change the electrical assembly design workbench and constraints the Connector & connector clip.
