Wiring harness design in CATIA V5 - 3D modeling Week 2 Challenge
Download following connectors & Connector clip cad data from given link & define it as Electrical Connector using Electrical Part design Workbench. Define all the necessary properties to Connectors & Clip.
A) CONNECTOR: A connector is electromechanical device which is used to collect the wire harness and send it to the power soruce,

This is the connector which is one of the components of wiring harness. Here we have followed few steps to complete this one;
i) First, we need to give geomentrical parameters , like axis and co odrinate systems.From the above diagram, we can see that X-axis is facing towards the sealing, Z-axis is top side and Y-axis should be the mating point.
ii) And coming to the back side of connector here we need to select the midpoint by using 'between' by clicking point option. Then we need to select the two points and select the midpoint option ,then we get exact midpoint on connector back side.
The axis we should provide at bundle entry point and connector connection point. After we need to define this as a connector by using 'define connector'. After defining it, we need to define bundle point by using 'bundle entry point'. In this point, we will determine the point,orientation,cooridination. AFter thhis, we need to connector point by using 'connector connection point'. Same goes as well as above mentioned.
2) CONNECTOR CLIP :
ii) The above mentioned process is same for this also.But here we need to cavity point by using cavity connection point. This type is only apply when the connector has the mounting clip feature. AFter giving axis system, we need to define this under part as an cavity connection point
3. MOUNTING CLIP:
The above picture represents the clip which is used to attach this to the connectior cavity. For this first we need to define its geomentrical parts and after we need to represent it as the 'cavity' not connection cavity, that is different.
ASSEMBLY:After all completion of individual part work , then we need to go for assembly by using electric harness assembly block.
