Wiring harness design in CATIA V5 - 3D modeling

Vehicle electrical distribution systems is the electric power to be transmitted to drive the vehicle electrically.

Deutsch DT06 – 08SA Connector connection point:

· THE CONNECTOR IS FIRST UPLOADED IN THE PART DESIGN WORKBENCH

· CREATE MIDPOINT ON THE CONTACT FACE WHICH WILL BE NORMALISED WIRE BUNDDLE INSERATION .

· WE DEFINE THE POINTS FOR CONNECTOR CONNECTION AND BUNDLE CONNECTION.

· THE AXIS SYSTEMS ARE PLACED ON THE CONNECTOR CONNECTION AND CAVITY CONNECTION POINTS THE ORIENTATION OF THE AXIS SYSTEM IS NOT SPECIFIC, WE JUST NEED TO FOLLOW A SIMILAR ORIENTATION FOR ALL THE PARTS.

· HERE THE Y-AXIS IS IN THE DIRECTION OF THE CONNECTION, Z-AXIS ALONG WITH THE CLIP MOUNTING AND X-AXIS ALONG BOTTOM TO TOP.

1. Create midpoint create

2. Connector connection point create

3. Connector connection axis system

4. create cavity connection point

5. create cavity connection axis system Switch to Electric part design and

6. define part as connector

7. Define Connector connection point and cavity connection point

3. Tyco 85229-1 :

1. Create midpoint

2. create cavity connection point

3. create cavity connection axis system and orientation should be same as in connector

4. Switch to Electric part design and define part as Mounting Equipment

5. Define cavity connection point

Electric Assembly Design

· Import Connector and cavity / mounting clip.

· Select Define Electrical connection

· Select cavity and then connector.
