Week 9 Tension and Torsion test challenge
Tension and Torsion test

Tension Test
Objective:
Perform the Tension Test by displacing one end of the specimen to 18mm while keeping the other fixed. and find out the total deformation, equivalent stress and temperature of the specimen.
- Analysis System: Explicit Dynamics
- Material Properties: Steel 1006 (Explicit Material)

- Mesh:
Patch Conforming Method: Tetrahedrons
3 mm face meshing by Sphere of Influence of radius 20 mm(Face Sizing & Face Sizing 2).

Mesh Element Quality:

- Analysis Setting
No of Steps: 1
Load Step Type: Explicit Time Integration
End Time: 0.001
- Boundary Conditions:
- Fixed support is defined at one end of the specimen

- Displacement of 18 mm is given on the other end of the specimen

Torsion Test
Objective:
Perform the torsion by displacing one end of the specimen to an angle of 1200 degree while keeping the other fixed. and find out the total deformation, equivalent stress and temperature of the specimen.
