Week 9 - Project - Master Section Development

AIM:

MASTER SECTION DEVELOPMENT OF B-PILLAR

PROCEDURE:

  • Input given from the Class A surface team with Master Section.
  • Created the tooling axis and done draft analysis for class A surface.
  • Created the Class B surface by offsetting Class A to 2.5mm.
  • After that created the flange according to the master section. For that, I used the sweep tool.
  • Next is the Class C surface creation. Swept the boundary of Class A surface with respect to the tooling axis. I gave a 3 deg draft to the Class C surface.
  • Joined Class A and Class C surface. After that trimmed with Class B surface to get a closed body.
  • Created a new body in the part workbench and made the surface into a solid.
  • Created B side features like Dog house and Ribs. Initially these features were created in surface then converted into solid.
  • After creating the whole B-Pillar draft analysis was done.
