DESIGN OF B-PILLAR
B-PILLAR :-
It is a vertical supporting element for the front door. the pillars in automobile generally designated by the letters A,B,C and D(for large vehicles). These designation helps in showing difference in those pillars which makes the design simple.

The below figures showes the detailed feature tree of design of B-PILLAR :-
PROCEDURE :-
- Initially by taking the reference of class a create the class B surface by offseting the class A surface to 2.5 mm
- if it showes any errors in class B then modify the class B
- then create the class C surface and trim it with class A and class B
- Now close the surface by using close body command
- after that create a doghouse with the reference of given master sections by considering the design rules.
- then create the ribs as many as required
- finally do the draft analysis for the doghouse
CLASS-A CLASS-B CLASS-C
FINAL OUTPUT BODY OF CLASS A CLASS B AND CLASS C SURFACES
The minimum draft value is given as 3mm. From the draft analysis colour grading the draft at above 3 mm shown in green colour and below zero which is negative value is shown in red colour and in between 0-3 it showes in blue colour.
The above figures showes the improper draft condition of a component which is due to improper class A surface. For that in industries the designers have to get approval from higher authorities to change the class A surface and make it proper surface
