DESIGN OF DRIVER DOOR APPLIQUE:-

Door applique :- An applique is cover which is fastened to a door surface for styling purpose and also used for covering of uneven or irregular surfaces of door.

In the above figure the blue colour part is door applique which is attached to the door.behind that door applique there is many uneven surfaceas are there. this applique covers all the uneven surfaces and gives stying to the door.

Procedure :-

• Initially convert the given CLASS A surfase into a closed body by creating CLASS B and CLASS C surfaces
• then create four way and two way locators by the following the design rules
• then create required number of heat stakes by following design rules
• After completion of all these we have to create a supporting surface to the heat stakesa as showen in below figure 1

note :-the reason why we are using supporting surfaces for this perticular surface is, the given class a surface is not flat at the heat stakes portion. see the fig 2 for reference. For heating heat stakes the thermal press machine need flat surface. if the surface is not flat then the heated plastic is escapes aside.
