Week 9 - Project 1 - Door Trim Lower with Engineering Features

AIM:

To create Plastic design and attach the Engineering features and generate the Draft Analysis for the given Door Applique Class A model.

Tooling Axis:

The component has walls that are perpendicular to the base of the component. Since the natural tooling axis was taken, (i.e) the axis normal to the base is taken as the Tooling axis.

DRAFT ANALYSIS:-Draft analysis is required to check if a part has required draft or not.The Draft analysis refers to a Tool that allows us to determine if we can remove the part we designing from the Tool being used to desig it.

CLASS B :In this component Creation of the class B surface first, we have to offset the entire model by 3mm outward some of the surfaces give offset error and ask for offset without these subelements click okay and work on the incomplete surfaces by using the multi-section surface command, sweep and different commands used to complete the class B surface.

CLASS C:

class c surface is the surface using the sweep comment to join the classA and class B to create closed body.

CONNECTING OF CLASS A,B,C SURFACES:

CONVERT INTO SOLID PART:

HEAT STAKE AND LOCATOR DESIGN:

LOCATOR:

Locators are designed as per the design considerations and located at the points given in the question.

The locator is designed with a sketch and is initially assembled inside a Body called Locator Assembly and then the feature is combined with the part body using Boolean Operation.

HEAT STAKE:

Heat Stakes are designed as per the design considerations and located at the points provided in master section.
