Week 9 - Project 1 - Door Trim Lower with Engineering Features

as the door trim lower s component was already completed in previous challlenge, so for this same cat file was used to create engineering features as heat stakes and locators.

A and B surfaces are trimmed with C surface and a solid part was made in part workbench using closed body command.

therefore, we have to create engineering features like heat stakes and locators on B surface so as to attach this part with another adjacent part. rather screwing and mechanical fastening between two adjacent parts , we basically prefer heat stakes and locators.

the locators are basically used for positioning the part together as per requirement and onnce the positioning is done, by the use of heat energy, the heat stakes are used for creating lock. thus, this method is very economical as well from asthetic point of view this, this the best method.

Following rules are followed while desigining the locators and heat stakes:

1.) distance between the heat stakes is maintained more than 50 mm.

2.) the height of locators as considered as 12.5 mm , and height of heat stakes are taken as 10 mm. Irespective of the heights of parts and various aspects , we have to focus height of heat stakes and locators. Height of locators must be greater than that of heat stakes..

3.) Fillet radius are given as 0.25MM.

4.) draft values are taken as 0.5 degrees.
