Week 9 - Challenge 1 - Base Bracket Design

Base Bracket Surface Design :-

It is given that Create the Base Bracket Plastic component through the given Class-A surface. To begin with, the tooling axis for the given Class-A Surface should be created meeting the requirements of the draft angle and at the end perform the Draft analysis on the model.Thickness of Plastic Part - 2.5 mm

Creating of Class B and Class C surface from the given Class A part.Start from making tooling axis using the given A Class component.

For creating tooling axis make use  of bisecting line command.for using bisecting command First use Intersection command then point continuty secting will appear on Class A surface. Then extend the line on both side at some distance.selecting that line make bisecting line.

Now start with creating the Class B surfaces first create Rib 1.for creating any surface First extract the Plane then Untrim the same plane and in last Extrapolate the Plane.

Now using same steps extrapolate the remaing sides Including the Base of the bracket.

After Extrapolating all the sides and base then for the Final required B Class surface Trim the unwanted sides , Give the required Edge Fillet by measuring it from Class A surface. Then offset the Created surface with Class A surface by given thickness, which is 2.5mm.

For creating the Class C surface Use command Boundary and Sweep including the Holes present in the model. In last joint B Surface with the Created part in Class C

Trim Class A with Class C to get Final required 2.5mm Thickness Surface Design

For Closed Surface slect final trim and then move to part drawing use command closed surface.

After making Solid Surface Model Now get to Draft Analysis,For Draft analysis change view mode select material call compass to the tooling axis select the surface.if surface change to Light Neon Green then the required geometry is in 3 degree (only if it is set on statistical color scale) and Note: The ideal draft angle of the component is Degree 3.
