Week 9 - Attachment Feature Creation - Challenge 2

Aim:

to create a body with given surface ad to perform Doghouse attachment future in it.

Procedure:

Draft analysis:

• Find a flat surface to create draft analysis.
• now place a point with point on the surface option
• now insert a line in Y direction.
• insert-->Analysis-->Feture Draft analysis-->select the compass and put into the tooling axis.
• Now check the draft angle to all the surface.

Class A:

• the input surface diagram is taken as input Class A asthetic surface.

Class B:

• to create class B surface ,class A surface is set in to multiple patches.
• with the help of color the patch is prepared.
• now extract surface from Class A andoffset each patch to 2.5mm distance from class A.
• avoide fillet to simplify the design
• now untrim the offseted surfaceend extrapolate each surfaces
• live wise there are six patches.
• now trim each to one surface.

Class C:

• The Class A boundaries are taken as input .
• using the sweep command with respect to draft darection the class C for outer boundires is formes.
• in the projection and Tapper surface the multi body and fill commend is used.
• now allthe patches are joined togrther.

Full Body Forming:

• Join Class A nand Class C surfaces.
• Now unhide Class B and trim it with the joined surface.

Dog-House Creation:

• select the surface to create doghouse
• insert a point and insert new axis system.
• now create a possition sketch and draw the dog house structure.
• exit the drawing work-bench and extrude it.
• now close the top face with trimmed new surface.
• now go to part work bench and create new body and select thicken surface and to inside direction
• now create a draft line seperactly for the dog house and do the draft analysis.
• now create a draft angle to 0.5 deg and select the faces to draft and select the top face as nuteral element and draft directio to tooling axis.
• now remeove the dog-house bottum with body 3 which is attachment future.
• the contact area should be less the 40% of body thickness which is 1mm and the height of dog house is 10mm.
• Now assemble the doghouse to maain body.

thus the dog house has been attached to the door handle
