Week 9 - Attachment Feature Creation - Challenge 2
To Create the boss and Dog House for the Centre console coin holder considering the design rules.
General Guidelines for Bosses:
- Draft - 0.5 degrees on walls of boss
- Thickness - Typically 40% of the nominal wall at the base.
- Height to Diameter Ratio - 3:1
- Radii - 0.25mm maximum radii.
Screw Bose
The base surface from the Class A surface is extracted.

A point is created on the extracted surface.

A line is drawn on the point directed towards the ZX plane. This line is the Tooling axis.

Screw Bose sketch

The ribs for the Screw Bose are also drawn.

Pad
The Screw Bose and its ribs were paded and thicken up to certain level.

Draft
Draft is set to 0.5deg for both Screw Bose and ribs

Both the Screw Bose and the ribs were trimmed together.

And they are assembled to the Main body

Dog House
Sketch for Dog house is drawn. A point is created and the sketch is drawn.

Sweep with draft is done with reference to the Tooling axis.

The extracted surface is offset to the certain height with which the swept dog house surface can be trimmed.

The side walls should be perpendicular to the base surface of the coin holder. So the back wall of the dog house surface is extracted and offsetted to certain distance and trimmed with the side walls.

Fillets are made and offset to 1mm and extrapolated to certain distance.

The base surface is extracted from the Class A surface.

Offset to certain distance.

Dog house surface is thicken using thicken option.

Draft is set to 0.5deg with reference to side axis.

Edges are filleted to 1mm.

Split were given inside the Dog house.

Edges were also filleted.

Draft

The splited edges were also filleted.

Translate the dog house to make sure that it is above the Coin holder.

Assemble with Dog house with the Coin holder Main body.

Translating the Screw Bose, to place it above the Dog house.

Draft analysis
Draft is made to 0.5deg inside.
