Week 9 - Attachment Feature Creation - Challenge 2

Screenshots of the completed design in various orientations (Isometric, Front, Side, and Top View)

Here, in the above pic the dog house body was created in hybrid mode due to software defaults. So, I have copied the children of the dog house and copied to a new body set with the link option.

Screw Boss design:

I have designed M6 screw hole. In this 5.2 mm will be the inner dia and the outer will be 8.2 because 0.6*t is the width of one side so 0.6*2.5= 1.5 each side. And a height is of 12mm. Draft of 0.5 degree as per the rule has been given. Ribs are created for the support of the screw boss. Fillet of 0.25 mm for the screw boss and rib.

In the rib the thickness is of 1 mm. which is the 40% of the component thickness.

Dog House design:

As per the rule 12 mm width is taken. For the extrude sweep is used with the draft angle of 1.5 degree. Fillet of 1 mm is given. Internal draft of 0.5 degree is given. Dog house have the thickness of 2 mm. Where C is 1 mm which is the 40% of the main wall thickness. And the height of B is 4 mm as per the rule (3mm to 6mm).

Tooling axis:

There are two tooling axis. One is in the Y direction. And I have to draw a side core axis for the dog house. Which is in the Z direction.

In the part, we can only have one draft analysis of the part. So side core of dog house has been performed for draft analysis.

Here 1.45 degree has taken to check the drafts. Green is taken as 1.45 degree, Blue is 0 degree, Red is negative degree.
