AIM : Create the boss and Dog House for the Centre console coin holder considering the design rules mentioned in the video.

General Guidelines for Bosses:

• Draft - 0.5 degrees on walls of boss
• Thickness - Typically 40%* of the nominal wall at the base.
• Height to Diameter Ratio - 3:1
• Radii - 0.25mm maximum radii.

Insert geometric as screw boss

sketch with Positioned sketch with reference ectract base.

with tooling axis.

Draw 2 circle in the extract and check the iso constraine.

inser the body and give pad

for inside and outside.

pad for 1st line 12mm

and 2nd line for 1mm

so it don't get gap between 2 obejects.

Now give draft of 0.5. with the extract selection.

and then give the fillet of 2.5

So now the screw boss is ready but it is still weak. so that we have to give ribs around it.

copy the screw boss sketch and paste in the screw boss geometric.

and make the screw sketch as construction line.

make the coincidance the line and the centre point.

and give Iso constraine.

Insert the body and pad the sketch of 10mm and give 1 mm thick

give the fillets to the ribs and then move to the draft.

Lets draft the ribs with the body

0.5 for all the faces

with the neutral face of extract and the pulling direction of tooling axis.

add the body by give uniontrim to main part.

Now the dog house is to be create.

• Doghouse wall thickness at the intersection of the part wall ( C ) should be 40% or less than the main wall stock ( T ).

• Height of ( B ) should be between 3.0 – 6.0 mm

Dog house is the feature to avoid the sinkmarks.

Min widthfor the dog house is 12mm

and draft is 1.5 is min

Insert the geometric as dog house.

create a point in the cetre of the circle of the screw boss.

and extract the assemble face

Now these are the inputs of the Dog house.

draw the sketch of rectangular outer screw base of 12 x 12.

The dog house should open in one end.

so one end of the recangular is in the construction line.
