Week 8 Worm Gear Challenge

Aim :

• To slove the given model and populate the results in the report

Software used

• Ansys workbench 2022

Prodcure

• Import the model from the skill lync poral
• As asked the model should be used as half to make the slover slove
• Model is open in trasient structural module
• Edit the model in space calim as requried
• Rename the model as Worm and spur gear
• Assign the materials as structural steel for both of the gears
• For making the gear rotate we need revalute joint on the both gears and its assigned to then
• The contacts are given source is the worm gear & target is the spur gear
• Frictionless contact is given to them
• Load is given by joint loads to 5 substpes as it would be easy to convenge
• Mesh is given as 1 mm for both parts
• Results are as equvalent stress , directional deformation and equvalent strain .
