Week- 8 - Solid meshing
Objective:
For the given Rear view mirror component , Check for the geometrical errors and mesh the Surfaces with the given 2D element and Use tetra elements to mesh the Volumes defined in the model .
Quality criteria:
- For 2D Mesh use following Quality Criteria

For 3D Mesh use following Quality Criteria

Following the below steps :
- Taking the geometry for portal.
Download the geometry from the portal and open it in the ANSA software . It looks like

- Do Topo on the following model :
To connect the geometry together do Topo.

3.Geometry cleanup:
Do Geometry check to see any errors are present in geometry or not .If errors are there Fix the errors .
On the Single Cons option too.
Here we got the errors after Executing ,

We fixed the errors and got the clean geaometry.

- Meshing
Here we directly go to Meshing part.
Use length option from Perimeter ,on middle click pop up box opens put 1 there.
We can see the property card on pressing Ctr+P , Taking each part one by one will perform the meshing.

Set Mesh Parameters as per given requriments.

Select Quality Criteria as per given requirements. Select only given parameters & put the values as per requirement.

For 2D mesh we are using Classic Mesh option.
Select the part & use Best option from Mesh Generation to generate mesh .
Select the Tria option for Flat surface and Ortho tria option for Curved surface
After meshing we don't get the proper mesh as per quality criteria, so use Reconstruct option from shell mesh .
After Reconstruct,

After Meshing done as per the quality criteria, we will create the Volume ,so we will go to
Volume Mesh tab --> Volume --> Define --> Detect on --> Visible
Creating the Volume for each part.

As we did Meshing , The inner part of 3D component will remain hollow so that we perform the Unstructured Meshing.
Here we used Tetra rapid option as shown.

So here we can see the cross section of the Solid component,

Smillarly we do meshing for all the components .
Final Mesh model:
