Week - 8 - Morphing
Aim: To morph the given component by increasing the dimension and change of shape by using morph module.
Objective: The changes in dimension and shape of the given components is done using the morphing technique.
Procedure:
- Download the given component and open it in Ansa software.
- The component is checked for geometry errors using the check geometry option, cleanup is done and stitched using the topo option.

Figure 2: After Clean up and Topo
- The component is the oriented to proper grey coloration.

Figure 4:After orientation
- Using the “morph” module the gride control box is created using the boxes option.

Figure 5: Box with control gride
- The geometry is chosen and the through the ortho option and boxes are created individual for the features or the whole component is taken into consideration.
- Using the "move" option in the "box morphing" menu, the gride is selected and moved in the direction required to change the dimension of the features or the shape of the component. The boxes are then deleted using the "delete" option in the boxes menu.

Figure 7: After morphing
- The morphing of case 1 is complete.
- The component for the case 2 is downloaded and open in the ansa software.
- Checked for any geometry errors using the checks manager.
- The component is created with the boxes for control grides using the morph module of the boxes option.
- The increase in the dimension of height is done to the dog house and ribs of the component using the move option of the "box morphing" menu. the boxes are deleted using the the "delete" option the "boxes" menu.

Figure: After deletion of boxes
- Height of the dog house and the ribs are increased.
Conclusion:
The morphing is become an essential option in any field like automobile, aircraft, or the basic engineering services as there will be need for development in terms of the shape with basic design to be same or the dimensional change with same basic design. Therefore, this morphing option comes in handy to support such requirement, rather than undergoing entire design change which would be not economically feasible and time consuming.
