Week - 8 Mass Scaling
Aim : To Reduce the Runtime required to run the analysis of given model using mass scaling technique and compare the results for different Cases
Objective : To study the different results that can be acheived by TSFAC and DT2MS parameters in Control timestep card
Procedure: The Given simulation was run by keeping the values of TSFAC(0.9) and DT2MS(3.5E-5) to know the required time to complete the simulation
Trial 1: TSSFAC=0.9

In the above case there is no addition of mass and no increase in perccentage and Estimated time reqd for simulation is 21 hrs 40 min
TSSFAC=0.8

Trial 2: DT=-5.5E-5
TSSFAC=0.9

TSSFAC=0.8

For DT2MS @ 5.5E-5 for TSSFAC 0.9 is 37 hrs 20 min and TSSFAC 0.8 is 28 hrs 55 min and increase in percentage is equal to 0.01034%
Trial 3: -7.5E-5
TSSFAC=0.8

TSSFAC=0.9

For DT2MS @7.5E-5 for TSSFAC 0.9 is 43hrs 26 mins and TSSFAC 0.8 is 19hrs 58 min and percentage increase for both cases is 0.03728 %
Trial 4: DT2MS=-9.5E-5
TSSFAC 0.9

TSSFAC 0.8

For DT2MS @ 9.5E-5 for TSSFAC 0.9 time required is 14hrs 42 min and For TSSFAC 0.8 it is 16 hrs 56 mins and percentage increase is 0.043%
Trial 5 : DT2MS -1.0E-4
TSSFAC 0.9

TSSFAC 0.8

For DT2MS @ -1.0 E-4 for TSSFAC 0.9 the time required is 15 hrs 39 min and For TSSFAC 0.8 time is 15 hrs 31 min and increase in percentage is merely equal to 0.06423%
Conclsuion: Hence Done trial and Error cases for the given file and came to know that by varrying TSSFAC and DT2MS the simaultion time can be lowered .
