Week 8 Challenge

Aim-: calculate centrifugal force from given data and apply it on stadd pro

Given-:

  • The span of the bridge is 12 m.
  • Width of carriage way is 7 m.
  • The bridge is subjected to a live load of Class 70R tracked vehicle.
  • The design speed of the vehicles is 75 km/hr.
  • The radius of curvature in the bridge is 3 m.

calculation-:

as we know centrifugal force = WV^2/127R=70*75*75/127*3=1033.46KN (AS 70R LOADING W=1033.46KN)

Apply this in stadd pro

Create a node @ origin (0,0,0) by using translistional repeate as width of carraigeway is 7m so for 2-lane 3.5m each should be provided.

After creating width, the height of pier assume as 9m a node is created then add a beam and by using translitional repeate @ Zdir copy the same

Now one end of bridge is created now by using translitional repeate copy this geometry @ X dirt at the spacing of 12m which the span of bridge nd step will be 1

After creating the fram assign the support to the pier as fixed support

The assign dimension of geometry are as shown below

After this completing the frame , now assign the properties to individual member of bridge. For this go to specification add the property circle of 1.2 m for pier, main beam 1.5*1.5, cross beam 0.75*0.75, after adding this properties select the specific member for assigning the properties

after assigning the properties add plate to the deck slab as thickness ofn 0.3m

after assigninhg the whole property, go to the loading->definition->vehicle definition add the load with width 1.8 and load as 1033.46 at dist 3.6m and generate the load as generation no. 50

now run analysis and post processing as it show 0error

after post processing the loading diagram as generation can be shown

the plate stress can be shown as below

and report for defklection and member force can generated as above
