Week 3 Challenge

solution-:

Given-:

span L= 25m

width of deck slab= 26m

length of pier is = 10m

the various IRC loading are as follows-:

1.metro rail loading

2.broasd gauge loading

3. electric train

4. gauge A loading and gauge B loading

let us considered live load type Metro rail loading arrangements as follows

calculation REACTION @ SUPPORT AND BENDING MOMENT

∑Fy = 0
Ra+Rb=170+170+170+170
Ra+Rb=680

∑Ma = 0
(170 x 2.1) +(170 x 4.3) + (170 x 16.7) + (170 x 18.9) = 25Rb
7140 = 25Rb
Rb = 285.6 kN
Ra = 394.4 kN

as simply supported Bending moment @ support is zero i.e
Ma = 0
Mb = 0
& The Bending Moment as Midspan is= (170 x 4.2) + (170 x 6.4) - (394.4 x 12.5) = - 3128 kNm

The Maximum Bending Moment Due to Live Loading is - 3128 kNm

analysis of girder in STADD PRO

step1: create geometry

span is 25m and width is 26m

Add Girder @ spacing of 3.25m

fixed support and specification provided as follows

pier-1.2m, deck slab thickness-2.25m, Igirder & cross girder-: 1*1m

Loading case is defined as follows mentioned by IRS

generation of load case with adding of span/increament

let increamental will be 20

after generation of load case Run the analysis part postprocessing for the result

the result after postprocessing are as follows

Fx displacement

Fy displacement
