Week 8 - Challenge 5 - Core & Cavity Design
Core and Cavity Design
Aim:
To create the core and cavity for moulding process of the given model.

Procedure:
1. Create a boundary line for Class A surface and Extrapolate the surface with random measurement.

2.Trim the Class C surface with the Extrapolated surface and then trim with the Class C with Class B surface which is a Parting Surface as shown in the figure.

3.Now create a Rectangular Sketch on XY plane to create the Core and Cavity.

4.Extrude the Sketch and fill the upper surface of the extruded rectangle using Blend by selecting the first curve and second curve and join the blended surface and extruded surface.

5. Trim the Upper extruded surface with the trimmed surface and make a closed surface component.

6. Create a solid component with the closed surface component in part design and Translate it in the upper direction. It is a Core Design.

7. Similarly create the Cavity design as done for the core of the component. The lower surface is blended and trimmed with the B surface and rectangular extruded surface is made as solid in Part design. It is a Cavity Design.

8.Create an intersection between the junction of Class C and Class B where it will be the Parting line.

9. The tree structure for the core and the cavity design is as shown below.

RESULT:
Therefore, the Core and Cavity for the Switch Bezel, Parting Surface and Parting line for the component are created.
