Week 8 - Challenge 5 - Core & Cavity Design
Report : Draft Analysis and Parting Creation of a SWITCH BEZEL
The SWITCH BEZEL is generally a part of the door of an automobile. the design of which is made through the CLASS A SURFACE provided. A Tooling Axis is created looking at the best angle possible for the ejection of the product after soldification and then the Draft Analysis is done.
Bisection Method : The convinient surface is taken into consideration, along which the component clears most of the material and its axis is noted. An intersection along them is created and the lines of the two biggest surfaces opposite to each other are extented.
A line BISECTING both these lines is created and isolated. This line is further considered for the draft analysis process and the correct angle of degree is determined to call it the TOOLING AXIS.
According to the analysis, the parting line, which separates the Core from the Cavity, falls at the exact edge where the CLASS A & CLASS C SURFACES are segregated with the help of the CLASS B SRURFACE created.
At that line, a Parting Surface is created and CORE & CAVITY are formed.
