Week 8 - Challenge 4 - Coin Holder Design

Title - Draft analysis of COIN HOLDER

Objective - To learn draft analysis of class A surface of coin holder, forming plastic structure and creating solid surface.

Introduction - In this project we will learn step by step process of draft analysis of coin holder and creating solid model by class A surface.

Methodology -

• Draft analysis of coin holder - open the surface workbench along with class A surface of given component. Then inspect the surface (aim is to find the surface that may create the problem for tooling axis surface which are parallel to Z direction surface.). Now extract the base of coin holder and create a centre point of the base. Create a dummy tooling axis with the perpendicular to the surface. Now create the intersection of class A surface wrt YZ plane. now define two parallel lines on the same path where our class A surface intersection is projected. Now create a bisector with the help of two lines. This will be our tooling axis. Now open feature draft analysis wrt to class A surface, place your coordinate system on the tooling axis which we have created. Both the axis should be one on one. now move the running point over the the class A surface to determine the draft angle. now select the class A surface and your surface has been analysised. ( Class A surface is note properly gained the angle) As the surface is not proper we may get red surface beside core or cavity.
