Week 8 - Challenge 4 - Coin Holder Design

Aim :

Create the Coin Holder Plastic component through the given Class-A surface.

Insert axis system on the surface class model.

Step 1 : Tooling Axis

Tooling axis is created along the base surface. This surface has the 0 degree draft angle and this surface is helpful in finding the drafts on other sides of the part.

Step 2 : Creating sink.

Sink is created by extracting the faces from class A surface design and is offsetted for a distance of 2.5mm outside of the extracted faces. The offseted surfaces are trimmed and inner sink is created and it is used as the sink for the class B surface.

STEP:3 OUTER FLANGES

Outer flanges are extracted from the class A surface and is offsetted for a distance of 2.5mm. this outer flanges are trimmed along with the sink. Also the flanges are splitted into top flange and bottom flange. The top flange has a draft angle and the bottom flange has a draft angle of 0 degree.

STEP 4: CREATING CLASS B SURFACE

In this step all the flange parts and inner sinks are defined and then trimmed to create Class B Surface. This class B Surface is the offset of Class A surface design.

Step 5 : Creating Boundary and surfaces

From the class A Surface boundaries are generated and then using the smooth curve option the curve is smoothened. Then the boundaries are extruded with surface. This surface acts as the Class C Surface. This class surface is then joined with either class A or Class B surface.

Joining Class B and Class C Surfaces.

The B And C surfaces are joined and created as a single part and is then trimmed with class A surface we can join Class A and Class C surfaces.

JOINING CLASS A , CLASS B AND CLASS C SURFACE:

Do an final trim with trimmed class B , class C surface and class A surface

Draft Analysis :

The Draft Analysis command enables you to detect if the part you drafted will be easily removed. This type of analysis is performed based on color ranges identifying zones on the analyzed element where the deviation from the draft direction at any point, corresponds to specified values.
