Challenge

Week 8 - Challenge 4 - Coin Holder Design

Create the Coin Holder Plastic component through the given Class-A surface. To begin with, the tooling axis for the given Class-A Surface created meeting the requirements of the draft angle and at the end perform the Draft analysis on the model.

Take the Thickness of the component to be 2.5 mm.

In this challange we will Analysis for Coin Holder fristly we extract the base surface of the component then create a point on the surface. here we using the axis system for positioning sketch, with the help of point create a line which is called Tooling Axis.

After that creating a axis with the help of given Class-A surface create a Class-B surface. In which we have to include geometrical sets included side wall, base, top wall, initial trim and outer flance. it should be proper tree structure help to correction in leter. Extrect all the surface then untrim and applied the extrepolated on the surface. trim all those surface and apply offset command for thickness of the component upto 2.5mm as per given.

And published the Tooling Axis and Class-A surface. this is help to nevigate the surface esily and also a publication acts as a reference to a geometric or datum entity in a CATIA V5 part or product. You can use publications as supports for any feature in Nonlinear Structural Analysis or Thermal Analysis, as long as the entity referenced by the publication is appropriate.

By using Class-B surface with the help of offset surface create Class-C surface. and applied to sweep tool with the help of creating a boundries and perpndicular Surface. trim with Class-B and C surface then join all surfaces.

For creating a Solid body we use closed surface which we have to created without any gap (max 0.003).

Now we analyse the draft angle here we used green colour that means not more than 3 degree, red colour that means more than 0 degree and sky colour that means between 0 to 3 degree As a reference tooling axis. After you have the compass on the part, right click on the compass and tell it to use the local axis system. Now that the draft direction is fixed, you can gather the draft angles along different surfaces using the “on the fly” mode.
