Week 8 - Challenge 4 - Bumper
Aim :
To Create the Bumper Plastic component through the given Class-A surface. To begin with, the tooling axis for the given Class-A Surface should be created meeting the requirements of the draft angle and at the end perform the Draft analysis on the model.
Body Of Content:
- As Class A surface which is given in CATPART format doest not open, as that is made with student version software
- STP file is used by converting into CATPART
- for the given Class A Suface tooling axis should be created along the z axis to make the Core and cavity to clear the way
- Creating the tooling axis,Now we have to see which surface will create problems or will be difficult to be tooled and make a line along that surface using point to point option. Here we can see in the picture that we have made two lines, now we will bisect the lines and choose proper direction, here vertical direction. This will be our tooling axis
- After the tooling axis is created the B surface is to be done with the help of offset command
- Offset have some missing surfaces the has to be filled with the help of sweep and multisurface command.
- C Surface has to be sweep with the help of Class A Surface as it cannot be done with boudary have to extrat each boundary.
- Trim, B surface and C Surface has been created
- Join the trim and Class A surface
- Make the partbody using the Closesurface
