Week 8 - Challenge 3 - Coin Holder Design

TOOLING AXIS

TOOLING AXIS IS VERTICAL

WHY?

ANS: If any vertical surface is there in sectional view of object then we consider vertical axis as tooling axis.

If any inclined surface is there then choose axis passing through point and inclination of the inclined axis plus draft angle will be the tooling axis

IN ABOVE diagram verical white line which is taken as reference to choose tooling axis

so we take a line which is vertical to the plane on the base.

Tooling about x axis also the verical axis because vertical plane is there in above diagram

Draft analysis

  • green colour indicates draft angle will be more than 2 deg
  • blue colour indicates draft angle will be negative
  • for draft analysis axis system is taken and that axis system is coinside with the tooling axis
  • and lock that position
  • then take the pendent symbol tool and click on the part then it will show which surface is more draft angle which surface is less angle
  • if the surface is green then ok
  • for blue surface click inversion symbol then shifted up side down and visible green surface
  • if any deviation surface shown red colour.
