Creating of tooling axis:

Tooling axis is created inorder to direct the opening and closing of the mould or cavity.The design of mould or cavity depends upon the tooling axis.

Tooling axis can be created using 3 methods

• based on coordinates (normal to direction)
• based on normal to surface
• based on bisecting

-> BAsed on coordinates:

By extracting the surface and creating a point on the surface using point on surface command, which is followed by drawing a line using line command normal to direction.

-> based on normal to surface

By using the same idea, as privious , the line is drawn using normal to surface command , to define the require tooling axis.

->Bisecting method

If the 1st 2 conditions dont work then we use bisecting method. In the bisecting method the class A surface is bisected using a plane and then a line is drawn through line command bisecting the 2 lines.
